Honey and Mustard Vinaigrette

So you have a boring salad that you want to kick up and change those leaves to be nice and tasty? Mustard and cider vinegar will definitely do just that for you AND the honey will keep things sweet escalating that natural sweetness in your veggies to a new level! All that without adding any fats or oils to your healthy meal. Honey will add a little to your sugar content, however, unless you have a blood sugar tendency, honey is packed with nutrients and anti-allergens so a little dose daily is actually recommended. The bees know what they are doing you guys! Just make sure you are buying great honey not a sugar-filled one. This dressing works extremely well with egg, chicken, or pork salads, also great as a sauce for your meats!

Ingredients

  • Mustard powder
  • Cider Vinegar
  • Honey

Method

This is another extremely simple recipe. It’s more or less equal portions of cider vinegar and mustard, and half that amount of honey. Of course, it all depends on your taste buds, add more honey for more sweetness. The cider vinegar will make it more fluid if you add more of it, while the honey and the mustard will make it more like a paste. Just taste it and make adjustments according to your taste. (It is a rather strong taste so careful when tasting it!) Blend the ingredients well together and it’s done!

Variations

Vinegar works just as well, any type of vinegar can be used. You may want to add chili flakes or ginger to an extra kick to your dressing. Let us know if you try it! We would love to hear some more flavors you might want to try mixing to it and about any experiments you do to this dressing!

Bon appetite!!
